Narembeen Farmer Winner of Beyondblue Dowerin Tank Auction 2012

Narembeen hobby farmer Dane Farina was the winning bidder of the BlueScope Water Tanks Waterpoint® tank at the Dowerin Field Day, with all proceeds going to not-for-profit organisation beyondblue.

Valued at $6700, the Mr Farina bought the Waterpoint® tank for $5700, providing value for money for his family as well as those needing the assistance of beyondblue.

BlueScope Water Tanks General Manager Daniel Wyatt said the tank auction drew an enthusiastic crowd and we are delighted with the result.

“We decided to undertake the auction to mark the launch of the new Waterpoint® tank, as Beyond Blue addresses issues associated with depression, anxiety and related disorders – issues which are unfortunately having an impact in the rural communities in which our customers live,” he said.
Beyond Blue Chief Executive Officer Kate Carnell AO said she was very grateful for the donation and thanked BlueScope Water Tanks for their ingenuity and imagination in raising money for Beyond Blue.
“Auctioning a water tank is a first for us and we are very grateful for the sizeable donation. Great work,” she said.

The new Waterpoint® tank includes all the features you would associate with a high quality BlueScope Water product.

“We have developed the Waterpoint® tank as the new standard in rural water tanks and it builds on our extensive experience in developing water tanks, including Pioneer Water Tanks, a brand synonymous with water storage quality and reliability for more than 20 years,” Mr Wyatt said.

The extra height of the Waterpoint® tank means it is has a greater storage capacity for the same footprint of similar diameter tanks and is available in capacities up to 300 kilolitres.

“We know it’s never easy to make a living off the land, so this design is culmination of a desire to offer tanks with a larger effective capacity and provide better value for money to our customers,” Mr Wyatt said.

Like all BlueScope Water tanks, the new tank is manufactured in Australia using Australian-made BlueScope steel and is available in the 20 standard COLORBOND® steel colours.
