Foster Water Tanks

For over thirty years now, Pioneer Water Tanks have been building and designing water tanks Foster can depend on.

Pioneer Water Tank owners in Foster rest easy in the knowledge they have the support of Australia's number one big tank manufacturer.

Although much of the rest of the country hold the belief that Victoria is a verdant land of plentiful rains, people in Victoria know better, and understand their water storage needs.

Foster is a dairying and grazing town 174 kilometres south-east of Melbourne on the South Gippsland Highway. It is about 20 kilometres north of the Gippsland coastline which includes Shallow Inlet, Corner Inlet, Waratah Bay, Yanakie and Wilsons Promontory.

An Ongoing Battle with the Elements

The Foster climate

In Foster, the climate is warm and temperate, with year round rainfall, warm to hot summers, and cold wet winters.

Foster's average annual rainfall is 845.2mm, making it a fair amount wetter than the nearby capital in Melbourne.

Originally a gold rush town, Foster turned to dairying and grazing when the gold ran out.

Rainwater run-off and flooding

In a country as dry as Australia, rain of any kind is often a welcome sight, however modern facilities like roadways and footpaths, along with changing weather conditions, can often trigger flash flooding due to storm water run off, which can cause extensive damage.

If a 24 hour period saw a 100mm deposit of rainfall on Foster, it would only require one hundred homes with fitted water tanks and sufficient guttering to prevent two million litres of water from entering the ecosystem.

Bushfire preparation

Australia is world renowned for having long scorching summers, and if you discount the obvious outlier in Antarctica, is the driest continent on the planet. This, coupled with the life cycle of many native plants, leaves much of Victoria vulnerable to widespread bushfires.

It is important in any non-urban setting to ensure that you are doing the best you can to protect yourself from bushfire. You can do this by making sure that you have a bushfire action plan, along with adequate water storage for fire fighting purposes.

Pioneer Water Tanks offers the option of a fire reserve in your tank, to ensure it can be used for both household water storage and fire protection.

Outperforming all comers in bushfire conditions

A Pioneer Water Tank performed better than the competitors in bushfire simulation when testing was done by the Bushfire and National Hazards CRC in collaboration with the CSIRO.

Importantly, as opposed to the other tanks - which either melted or split - the Pioneer Water Tank continued to hold water even after a fire front, which could prove essential to firefighting efforts.

While a water tank will still prove appropriate for watering gardens or lawns, if it has been exposed to fire, it is highly advised that you get the tank water tested as soon as possible to make sure that it is still safe for domestic use.

The Pioneer Water Tanks Difference

Pioneer V-Lock ® tank wall profile

The Pioneer V-Lock ® tank wall profile has been engineered for toughness, and designed with the sole function of water storage in mind.

This V-Lock panel profile is designed not only for strength and durability of the tank wall itself by engineering the sheets to the ideal thickness for each panel, but also to protect the tank liner, protecting against stretching and wear as the tank fills and empties.

It's a design so good, it won an Australian Design Award for the superior strength and internal support, along with its visually pleasing appearance.

Aqualiner Fresh ® antimicrobial water tank liner

The Aqualiner Fresh ® water tank liner is a Pioneer Water Tanks exclusive, the only antimicrobial tank liner available on the market today, and is proven to prevent the growth of algae and bacteria in your water tank.

Utilising Sanitized ® technology, the Aqualiner Fresh ® water tank liner has the antibacterial qualities of silver woven into the tank liner.

This is an industry leading product, comprised of five engineered layers, coming together to produce the most scientifically advanced, cleanest and strongest water tank liner available today.

Australian Made Water Tanks - Foster Local Service

Pioneer Water Tanks can provide truly local service to all Australians, no matter where they are based, thanks to the Pioneer Dealer Direct Network, made up of over 50 experienced water tank dealers.

In Foster, we are proud to be partnered with D&D Tanks, who have the capacity to assist with all your water storage needs.

It is crucial that our water tank dealers are experts in water tank assembly, as a water tank is only as good as the individual who builds it.
