Hazelwood North Water Tanks
Hazelwood North is so named due to its geographical orientation from the town "Hazelwood" - now known as Churchill. It is located less than 10km south of Morwell, in the Gippsland region of Victoria.
For over thirty years, Pioneer Water Tanks have been a leading Hazelwood North water tank manufacturer and supplier.
The backing and history of Australia's number one big tank company, means that people in Hazelwood North can be satisfied with their water storage solutions.
Although much of the rest of the country hold the belief that Victoria is a verdant land of ample rains, people in Victoria know better, and understand their water storage needs.

An Ongoing Battle with the Elements
The Hazelwood North climate
Hazelwood North experiences an oceanic climate with warm to hot summers, and cool winters.
Hazelwood North typically experiences around 700mm of rainfall annually, and these rainfall is spread reasonably evenly across the months.
Historically the area was used by graziers and small-scale farmers, the now district functions primarily as a commuter town for those working in the nearby regional centres of Morwell and Traralgon.
Rainwater run-off and flooding
While many people across our dry country relish the sight of rain, evolving weather conditions, and modern infrastructure have resulted in increasing cases of storm water run off and flash flooding.
If Hazelwood North received 100mm of rain in a twenty-four hour downpour, it would require just one hundred houses to have water tanks to prevent 2 million litres of water from entering stormwater systems and resulting in stormwater runoff and flooding damages.
Bushfire preparation
Australia is world famous for having long warm summers, and if you discount the obvious outlier in Antarctica, is the driest continent on the planet. This, coupled with the life cycle of many native plants, leaves much of Victoria vulnerable to widespread bushfires.
As well as having a bushfire action plan, an important way to prepare for the dry summer months is to ensure that you have adequate water storage to help safeguard you from the threat of fire, and a Pioneer Water Tank helps provide that protection.
Pioneer Water Tanks offers the option of a fire reserve in your tank, to ensure it can be used for both household water storage and fire protection.
Outperforming all comers in bushfire conditions
When the Bushfire and National Hazards CRC in conjunction with the CSIRO performed bushfire simulations on a variety of water tanks, a steel Pioneer Water Tank held up best.
All other tanks tested either melted or split, causing them to lose precious water, however the Pioneer Water Tank continued to hold water after being exposed to the full 30 minute fire front, which could prove vital to fire fighting efforts.
If your water tank has been subjected to fire, it is essential to ensure that you get your water tested as soon as possible to make sure that it is safe for food preparation or drinking. The water would, however, still be suitable for purposes such as watering gardens or lawns.
The Pioneer Water Tanks Difference
Pioneer V-Lock ® tank wall profile
The Pioneer V-Lock ® tank wall profile, exclusive to Pioneer Water Tanks, has been designed with the sole purpose of water storage.
The V-Lock profile is designed both for sturdiness and to safeguard the tank liner, by preventing stretching and wear, and the sheets are engineered to the ideal thickness for each panel, meaning we put the steel where it's required most.
Don't just take our word for it, the design is so sound, it won an Australian Design Award for its durability and appearance.
